Abstract
Un sistema (10) para la generacion de electricidad a partir de la energía geotérmica, depende del uso de reacciones endotérmicas en el fondo de un pozo (12), para capturar y almacenar el calor geotérmico, y reacciones exotérmicas en la parte superior del pozo (12), para liberar el calor almacenado dentro de los productos de las reacciones endotérmicas. En una modalidad preferida, la reaccion endotérmica es la descomposicion del agua. Para producir la reaccion endotérmica, al igual que para recoger y separa los productos resultantes, se usa un dispositivo catalítico (22), donde cada tipo de producto se difunde selectivamente en su conducto individual (24, 26). Los productos endotérmicos sufren la reaccion exotérmica en una turbina (240) combustion, y los productos de la reaccion exotérmica se condensan inmediatamente en el condensador (242). En una modalidad preferida el condensador (242) condensa el vapor en agua líquida para regresarla abajo del pozo (12), creando así un sistema cerrado.
