Abstract
Se provee un método para biotratar un material solido para remover un compuesto no deseado usando un biorreactor de superdicie no agitado; de acuerdo con el método, la superficie de una pluralidad de substratos gruesos es revestida con un material solido que será biotratado para formar una pluralidad de substratos gruesos revestidos; los substratos gruesos tienen un tamaño de partícula de más de aproximadamente 0.3 cm y el material solido que será biotratado tiene un tamaño de partícula de menos de aproximadamente 250 cm; se forma entonces un reactor de superficie no agitado apilando la pluralidad de substratos guesos revestidos en un tnaque para qu el volumen vacío del reactor sea mayor que, o igual a aproximadamente 25% el reactor es iniculado con un microorganisnmo capaz de degradar el compuesto no deseado en le material solido sea degradado hasta una concentracion deseada; el procedimieto es util para l bioremediacion de suciedades contaminadas, la desulfurizacion del carbon y la bioocidacion de minerales y concentrados de sulfuro refractorio.
