Abstract

Un proceso para tratar aceite o grasas de coccion que comprende poner en contacto el aceite o grasa de coccion con silicato de magnesio y por lo menos un material alcalino tal como, por ejemplo, hidroxido de calcio. El silicato de magnesio y por lo menos un material alcalino están presentes en cantidades efectivas para reducir el contenido de los ácidos libres en el aceite o grasa y permitir la reutilizacion del aceite o grasa para coccion. Este método proporciona prolongacion mejorada de la duracion del aceite de coccion empleado en operacion de tipo restaurante y de fritura industrial.
