Un método para elaborar inosina-5'-monofosfato y sus derivados resistentes a la 5'nucleotidasa modificando químicamente la inosina-5'-monofosfato para la formula (I) en donde R es seleccionada del grupo que consiste de un alquilo, alcoxi y compuestos de amino secundario, por lo que la actividad biologica de la inosina-5'-monofosfato se retiene in vivo.
