There is provided a process for making composite particulates comprising from about 1 percent to about 50 percent by weight of discrete particles of water-insoluble diacyl peroxide having a mean particle size of less than about 300 microns and from about 30 percent to about 99 percent by weight of a carrier material which melts in the range of from about 38 degree C to about 77 degree C. This preparation process involves the steps of: (i) mixing the particles of water-insoluble diacyl peroxide into the carrier material while the carrier material is in a molten state; and then (ii) rapidly cooling and solidifying the resultant mixture; and thereafter (iii) working the solidified mixture if or as necessary to form the composite particulates therefrom. Detergent compositions containing the composite particulates are also provided.
