Abstract

La presente invencion se refiere a un método para empacar, en forma elástica, un artículo compresible (10), el cual comprende los pasos de insertar el artículo dentro de un tubo de un material deformable (22) de tal forma que se proporciona material en exceso en los extremos del tubo. Un primer extremo (25) del tubo se cierra luego en forma sellada. Luego se evacua aire del tubo a través del segundo extremo por lo cual se deforma el tubo alrededor del artículo y provoca que el artículo se comprima. Mientras se mantiene un vacío en el tubo, el segundo extremo del tubo se cierra en forma sellada. Un manguito de contencion (26) se ajusta sobre el tubo sellado para mantener al artículo en un estado comprimido. Cuando el artículo se desempaca, el manguito de contencion se sustrae y se deja que el tubo se expanda en una forma gradual y controlada, mediante la entrada de aire hacia el tubo.
