Abstract

La presente invencion se refiere a una batería de ácido de plomo, libre de mantenimiento, regulada por válvula que comprende un receptáculo, al menos un compartimento de placa en el receptáculo, conteniendo cada uno de dichos compartimentos placas y electrolito, una cámara absorbente de electrolito en dicho receptáculo para cada uno de dichos compartimentos, teniendo cada dichas cámaras una ventilacion a la atmosfera, y una válvula reguladora de presion asociada con cada compartimento, para liberar la presion de gas dentro de ese compartimento, teniendo cada una de dichas válvulas un lado aguas abajo que se comunica con una entrada hacia una respectiva de dichas cámaras, conteniendo cada dichas cámaras un material inerte, absorbente de electrolito, permeable al gas, estando dicho material absorbente colocado entre dicha entrada y dicha ventilacion de dicha cámara de manera que el gas liberado a través del lado de aguas abajo de dicha válvula fluya a través de dicho material absorbente al pasar hacia dicha ventilacion, siendo la trayectoria de contacto de dicho gas dentro de dicho material absorbente lo suficientemente larga para que substancialmente todas las gotitas de dicho electrolito arrastrado en dicho gas liberado se absorban por dicho material y no se lleven hacia afuera de dicha ventilacion.
