Abstract
Se describe una batería de acumulador novedoso que se caracteriza por un electrodo positivo de metal-azufre orgánico que tiene una o más uniones de metal-azufre en donde cuando el electrodo positivo se carga y descarga, cambia el estado de oxidacion del metal. El electrodo positivo tiene la formula general (1) en donde z = 1 o 2; y = de 1 a 20; x = de 1 a 10; c = de 0 a 10; n _> 1; y q = de 1 a 10; en donde M' es un metal o un cation diferente; en donde M es cualquier metal multivalente, y cuando n es > 1, puede ser un metal multivalente diferente en unidades de repeticion diferentes de los materiales de metal-azufre orgánico poliméricos; en donde R es un grupo orgánico que tiene de 1 a 20 átomos de carbono que comprende una o más porciones orgánicas seleccionadas del grupo que consiste de cadenas alifáticas, anillos aromáticos, anillos alicíclicos, y combinaciones de cadenas alifáticas, anillos aromáticos y anillos alicíclicos, con la condicion de que R no comprende anillos aromáticos fundidos, en donde dichas cadenas alifáticas, anillos aromáticos y alicíclicos pueden incluir uno o más heteroátomos de oxígeno, azufre, silicio, fosforo o nitrogeno, y en donde puede esta substituido con uno o más grupos de extraccion de electrones; y en donde cada cadena alifática puede ser lineal o ramificada, saturada o insaturada; y en donde cuando n > 1, R puede ser diferente en unidades de repeticion diferentes de los materiales poliméricos. También se describen baterías de gel, de estado solido y de líquido que usan dicho electrodo positivo novedoso.
