Abstract
Un sistema catalítico para convertir hidrocarburos, monoxidos de carbono y oxidos de nitrogeno, contenidos en un gas de escape generado por un motor de combustion interna. Este sistema catalítico comprende: un primero, segundo y tercero bloques catalíticos, dispuestos en serie en un pasaje del gas de escape de un motor de combustion interna, corriente abajo de un multiple del gas de escape. El primer bloque tiene el menor volumen y se acopla estrechamente a un multiple de gas de escape del motor, y este primer bloque catalítico se coloca adyacente al, y espaciado del, segundo bloque catalítico por una distancia predeterminada, no mayor de 25.4 cm.
