Abstract

La presente invencion provee un método de recirculacion de dioxido de carbono para mejorar el crecimiento de las plantas. Bajo este método, el dioxido de carbono es capturado de una fuente productora de CO2 y es depositado en una cavidad subterránea, la cual es substancialmente libre de metano y tiene una temperatura inferior que las temperaturas ambiente durante el día durante la temporada de crecimiento de las plantas. El dioxido de carbono es almacenado en la cavidad subterránea por lo menos hasta que se enfríe a una temperatura por lo menos igual de baja que la temperatura ambiente durante el día antes de ser transportado desde la cavidad subterránea hacia un tracto de plantas y distribuido a las plantas dentro del tracto. Si se desea, la cavidad subterránea puede consistir de una mina abandonada. Si la fuente de CO2 está lejos de la mina, el CO2 puede ser transportado hacia la mina en contenedores o carros tanque. Si se desea, además, la fuente de CO2 puede incluso estar localizada en la mina.
