Abstract

La invencion comprende una unidad (1) de conmutacion de tres etapas, adaptada a un SISTEMA ATM, que incluye un numero de conductores entrantes (2) relacionados en grupos, cada grupo se conecta a una primera etapa (3) de conmutacion, formada como un circuito de entrada, un numero de conductores salientes (4), en grupos, cada grupo se conecta a una segunda etapa (5) de conmutacion, formada como un circuito de salida, y una tercera etapa (6) de conmutacion. Una unidad (10) de control, actua en conjunto con las etapas de conmutacion, con el fin de conectar uno de los conductores entrantes (2a') con un conductor saliente (4a') seleccionado, por medio de una trayectoria de conexion indicada por y entre la tercera etapa (6) de conmutacion relacionada. Cada conductor saliente, que pertenece a la primera etapa (3) de conmutacion, actua en conjunto con un convertidor electrooptico. Conexiones respectivas (3a"), entre la primera etapa (3) de conmutacion y la tercera etapa (6) de conmutacion, constan de un conductor optico. Esta tercera etapa (6) de conmutacion se adapta para transferir las señales opticas que llevan informacion por la trayectoria de conexion. Las conexiones (6a"), entre la tercera (6a) y la segunda (5) etapas de conmutacion, consta de conductoresopticos y conductores entrantes, que pertenecen a la segunda etapa de conmutacion se conectan previamente por un convertidor opto-eléctrico.
