Abstract

Un catéter esofágico de calibracion (10) o estetoscopio (32) que puede insertarse dentro del esofago o del estomago de un sujeto o paciente, tiene una porcion de cuerpo flexible y alargada que lleva, en un extremo distal (14), un incremento. El catéter tiene una serie de graduaciones (16) visibles por el usuario para permitir el posicionamiento selectivo del instrumento a una profundidad predeterminada dentro del sujeto. Las graduaciones se calibran segun la estatura, peso o área superficial corporal del sujeto. Las graduaciones pueden imprimirse sobre la porcion de cuerpo (12), o la porcion de cuerpo puede tener una porcion transparente y las graduaciones pueden ser llevadas sobre un miembro interno a la misma, que es visible a través de la porcion transparente.
