Abstract

En un sistema de base de datos distribuida se manejan partes diferentes de una base de datos mediante cada numero de procesadores interconectados (54, 74). Las partes de base de datos diferentes contienen un numero de entidades de datos (58, 66, 66', 93), proporcionándose para cada una de estas entidades de datos la informacion global (82) relacionada con el procesador en donde está colocada la entidad de datos, y la informacion local (79, 80, 84) relacionada con la ubicacion de la entidad de datos en el propio procesador. La informacion global (82) está colocada en cada procesador en el sistema en la forma de informacion global comun a y específica para cada uno de los juegos de entidades de datos que se han predefinido con anterioridad. Más particularmente, estos juegos de entidades de datos comprenden entidades de distribucion de las cuales cada uno incluye la informacion relacionada con un numero de casos de un cierto tipo de entidades de datos colocadas en un cierto procesador, y la informacion por medio de la cual puede encontrarse la direccion hacia ese procesador.
