Abstract
The present invention discloses an apparatus with characteristics similar to those of a low capacity, three windings three-phase power transformer with special internal connections, same equipment is capable to independently regulate real power in Megawatts, and reactive power in Megavars circulating by transmission line. This control is achieved by modifying in discrete steps, original voltage angle and magnitude using two three-phase derivation changers to operate under charge controlled by an automatic regulator adjustable in several parameters, and a protecting and measuring scheme which form part of automatism. Derivation changers perform the function of discreetly varying compensation voltage magnitudes to modify output voltages angle or magnitude. Benefits obtained by applying these equipments in power systems are: looses reduction by Joule effect in transmission, programmed inversions deferring in a short time by taking advantage at maximum of existent installations, and a control on transported power volumes.
