Abstract

The present invention provides a novel process for confining, harvesting and extracting lily and aquatic underbrush, utilizing machinery specifically manufactured for said purpose. The process comprises several steps which are carried out according to specific conditions of each lily or aquatic underbrush group which is located in each lagoon, lake or river, in addition to considering climatic conditions and year season. The steps of said process are characterized in that they can be performed independently, and in some cases, sequentially. The first step of the process involves pushing lily and underbrush located in lagoons, lakes and rivers towards a shore or a place for their confinement, using for that purpose a boat or launch which can navigate on the surface of lakes, lagoons and rivers having underbrush, at a suitable speed and power, said boat or launch comprising either fixed lateral arms or arms capable of being articulated by means of pistons so as to modify the angle thereof in order to push aquatic plants in general, also including one blade or a plurality of blades for cutting the plant groups, and a bucket disposed at the front end thereof. Once access for the boat or launch has been achieved by using said cutting blades, some tamandas are formed having a size which can be easily handled, by piling them together with the aid of the bucket. Tamandas will not sink, but will float. The next step comprises harvesting said tamandas, pushing them towards the shore or stream. An alternate embodiment for the confinement step in shallow areas consists of placing a nylon net with floats, this cable being subsequently tied up to a stake which is fixedely attached underwater, or if preferred, tied up to an anchor or rigid element. This will allow the launch to work in other areas and prevent the underbrush from being dispersed.
