Abstract
El material se impregna con una solucion acuosa que contiene los precursores de una base de vidrio de fosfato modificada por cuando menos la presencia deoxido de zinc, luego se seca y se somete a un tratamiento térmico para formar un recubrimiento interno de proteccion contra la oxidacion que comprende la base de vidrio de fosfato modificada. Los precursores se introducen en la solucion acuosa a manera de permitir la formacion de una base de vidrio en donde la proporcion molar de los oxidos modificadores de vidrio incluyendo el oxido de zinc y los oxidos formadores de vidrio, que consisten principal o solamente en anhídrido fosforico, es suficientemente alta, particularmente de 0.6 o más, de preferencia de 0.9, para dar a la base de vidrio de fosfato resistencia a la corrosion por humedad. La solucion se obtiene disolviendo inicialmente en agua un polifosfato tal como metafosfato o trimetafosfato de sodio capaz de solubilizar subsecuentemente, de una manera estable, por complejacion, y sin la formacion de un precipitado, la cantidad requerida de sales precursores de los oxidos modificadores, que comprenden cuando menos una sal de zinc tal como nitrato o sulfato de zinc.
