Abstract

The inkjet print head includes a main body part having first and second ink carrier channels extending longitudinally therethrough, and a cover plate fixedly mounted thereto. A thinned hole is formed in the cover plate which extends from the first and second openings along a posterior lateral surface to a third opening along a frontal lateral surface thereof. The cover plate is mounted on the main body part, detailing so that the first opening is in communication with the first ink carrying channel, and the second opening is in communication with the second ink carrying channel. The ink jet print head further includes first and second actuators coupled with the first and second ink carrier channels, respectively. Variable volume droplets of ink can be ejected from the ink jet print head, simultaneously applying a voltage pulse having a selected magnitude to the first ink carrier channel and a voltage pulse having a magnitude between zero and the selected magnitude, to the second ink carrier channel. Alternatively, the modulable volume ink droplets can be ejected from the ink jet print head by sequentially applying a voltage pulse that has a selected time duration, to the first ink carrier channel, and a voltage pulse that has a time duration between zero and the selected time duration, to the second ink carrier channel.
