Abstract

Se ha encontrado que la aprotinina es un larvicida contra un número de plagas de insectos comunes de cultivos agrícolas y granos almacenados, particularmente en combinación con una lectina insecticida o larvicida. En una modalidad preferencial, la resistencia de las plantas a estos insectos se produce insertando en las células de una planta un gene cuya expresión causa la producción de uno o más de estos inhibidores de proteinasa en combinación con una lectina de este tipo, en cantidades larvicidas.
