Abstract
Un método de digrafía acústica para un pozo de petróleo o gas, que comprende: transmitir señales acústicas a diferentes azimutes en un pozo de petróleo o gas; y recibir en respuesta a las señales acústicas transmitidas, señales acimutales respectivas, provenientes del pozo para determinar la anisotropía mecánica de una estructura terrestre atravesada por un pozo, en donde las señales acimutales recibidas tienen formas de ondas que responden a la comprensión, a la cizalla y ondas Stonely producidas en la estructura terrestre en respuesta a las señales acústicas transmitidas. Este método puede utilizarse en conjunto con una técnica anterior en donde una muestra núcleo es retirada del pozo y analizada fuera del pozo.
