Abstract

Consiste en establecer una batería de silos preferentemente en número de cuatro, que se van llenando progresivamente de basura, a un ritmo aproximado de dos años para cada silo, en cada uno de los cuales la basura se establece en capas de reducido espesor, del orden de 20 cm., que se mantienen convenientemente niveladas y homogeneizadas, sembrándose inicialmente en la basura lombriz roja, en proporciones adecuadas, destinada a transformar la materia orgánica en humus y manteniéndose un grado de humedad relativa en la basura apropiado, del orden del 60. Se incorporan además animales de granja, tales como pollos, faisanes, perdices, palomas, etc., cuya dieta se completa con pequeñas dosis de cereales y otros productos, para compensar el exceso de proteínas y humedad de las lombrices. Cada silo cuenta con una torreta central de control situada por encima de su embocadura, que constituye además el elemento soporte para una pluralidad de cables radiales que sujetan a una red de cerramiento cuando en su interior existan animales voladores y/o una lona de cubrición frente a los efectos de sol y del agua.
