Abstract

La presente invención pertenece en general al campo de los compuestos terapéuticos, y más específicamente a las formas cristalinas del ácido 4-(5-(4,7-dimetilbenzofuran-2-5 il)-1,2,4-oxadiazol-3-il) benzoico (denominado aquí como "BHBA-001") (por ejemplo, RARp2) agonista, que, entre otras cosas, es un receptor (selectivo) del ácido retinoico beta(RARBp). La presente invención también se relaciona con composiciones farmacéuticas que comprenden estas formas cristalinas, y el uso de tales formas cristalinas y composiciones, tanto in vitro como in vivo, para activar (selectivamente) el RARB (por ejemplo, RARB2), para provocar o promover el desarrollo de neuritas, crecimiento de neuritas, y/o la regeneración de neuritas, y en el tratamiento de 15 enfermedades y afecciones que son mediadas por el RARB (por ejemplo, RARp2), las cuales se mejoran por la activación del RARP (por ejemplo, RARP2), etc., incluidas, por ejemplo, lesiones neurológicas tales como lesiones de la medula espinal.
