Abstract
Se describen un método y un sistema para producir metanol que emplea un sistema de producción de gas de síntesis por reformado de metano con vapor (SMR) y/o autotérmico (ATR), junto con un sistema de oxidación parcial. El sistema y el método de modo dual para producir el gas de síntesis en un proceso de producción de metanol optimizan la eficiencia y la productividad de la planta de metanol mediante el uso del sistema de reformado con base en oxidación parcial como una fuente independiente de gas de síntesis. Los métodos y los sistemas descritos son configurables ya sea como un reacondicionamiento de las instalaciones existentes de producción de metanol o como un paquete integrado en las instalaciones de producción de metanol de nueva construcción.
