Abstract
Se proporciona un método para la formación de un eje propulsor de peso ligero. Un primer espacio tubular se inserta en un troquel definiendo una garganta de extrusión en un extremo. Una herramienta se inserta en el troquel que tiene un mandril con porciones de diámetro creciente. La herramienta se mueve hacia el extremo de salida de la matriz parcialmente saca el espacio en blanco a través de la garganta de extrusión y formar un eje propulsor hueco con un diámetro interno variable basado en el diámetro variable del mandril. Luego se retira la herramienta y se inserta un segundo espacio tubular y se coloca en contacto con el primer espacio. La herramienta, o una herramienta diferente, se insertan en el troquel y se mueve otra vez hacia el extremo de salida del troquel para completar la extrusión del primer espacio y producir un eje que tiene diámetros en cada extremo que son menores que el diámetro de una porción intermedia del eje.
