Abstract

De acuerdo con las modalidades actualmente descritas, se proporcionan fuentes de alimentación ininterrumpibles (UPS) y un método para detectar fallas de energía eléctrica para una UPS. En una modalidad, el método comprende: detectar al menos una porción de una forma de onda de una entrada de energía principal de una fuente de alimentación ininterrumpible; calcular al menos uno de un valor de voltaje detectado y un valor de corriente detectado, con base, al menos en parte, en la forma de onda detectada al calcular al menos una de una media cuadrática, un promedio, o una suma de la forma de onda detectada; y transferir la fuente de alimentación ininterrumpible a una entrada de energía secundaria en respuesta a al menos una de las siguientes condiciones: el valor de voltaje detectado es menor que un valor de voltaje umbral mínimo, el valor de voltaje detectado es mayor que un valor de voltaje umbral máximo, o el valor de corriente detectado es mayor que un valor de sobre-corriente.
