Abstract

El propósito de la presente invención es proporcionar un horno híbrido de fundición de metales que es capaz de usar una tapa de horno para contener metal fundido, mientras inhibe la reducción de la vida útil de los quemadores proporcionados a la tapa de horno provocada por exposición a altas temperaturas durante largos periodos de tiempo. Una tapa de horno 13, 14 que cierra una abertura 21 en el crisol 11 incluye: una primera tapa de horno 13 que tiene, provistos en la misma, quemadores 41 para inyectar llamas dentro del crisol 11; y una segunda tapa de horno 14 que no tiene los quemadores 41 provistos en la misma. Cuando se funde el metal a fundir, la primera tapa de horno 13 está dispuesta en una posición en la que la abertura 21 está cerrada. Cuando el metal fundido está contenido en el crisol 11, la primera tapa de horno 13 se retira de la abertura 21, y la segunda tapa de horno 14 está dispuesta en la posición en la que la abertura 21 está cerrada.
