Abstract

La presente invención se relaciona con composiciones para cubierta de cables (aislamiento o revestimiento) para cables que son resistentes al fuego y al agua. De manera significativa, la composición no contiene cantidades significativas de plomo, halógeno y antimonio; y es pirorretardante (Prueba de quemado de bandeja portacables UL 1685); y tiene excelentes propiedades mecánicas y resistentes al agua. La composición de cubierta contiene (a) una poliolefina; (b) una poliolefina modificada con anhídrido maleico; (c) un copolímero butadieno-estireno; (d) un pirorretardante no halógeno; y (e) un compuesto de silano.
