Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a sistemas, métodos y procedimientos para implementar un sistema de codificación de video (VCS - Video Coding System). El VCS puede configurarse para recibir una señal de video, la cual puede incluir una o más capas (por ejemplo, una capa base (BL - Base Layer) y/o una o más capas de mejora (EL, Enhancement Layer)). El VCS puede configurarse para procesar una imagen de BL a fin de obtener una imagen de referencia de inter-capa (ILR - Inter-Layer Reference), por ejemplo, utilizando un proceso de predicción de inter-capa a nivel de imagen. El VCS puede configurarse para seleccionar una de entre la imagen de ILR procesada o una imagen de referencia de capa de mejora (EL), o ambas. La(s) imagen(es) de referencia seleccionada(s) pueden(n) comprender una de entre la imagen de referencia de EL o la imagen de ILR. El VCS puede configurarse para predecir una imagen de EL actual utilizando una o más de entre la imagen de ILR o la imagen de referencia de EL seleccionadas. El VCS puede configurarse para almacenar la imagen de ILR procesada en una memoria temporal de imágenes decodificadas de EL (DPB - Decoded Picture Buffer).
