Abstract

The present disclosure is related to a closed cycle cooling system for cryogenic system compressors or the like, based on the use of water cooling towers, recirculation and combination of hot and cold water in tanks using submersible water pumps. The object of this invention is to cool down cryogenic system compressors to prevent overheating thereof and to keeps its temperature within the ranges indicated by the manufacturer for their correct operation in order to provide the required cooling capacity by themselves required for cryogenic equipment such as a pulse tube cooler to achieve cryogenic temperatures. The present invention operates by using the methodology described herein and solves the problem of maintaining a water flow circulating through a cryogenic system compressor, taking into account flow, pressure and temperature requirements that allow nominal operation.
