Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un monitor portátil personal (PHHM) que comprende un dispositivo de adquisición de señal para adquirir señales las cuales pueden ser usadas para derivar una medición de un parámetro relacionado con la salud del usuario, en donde el dispositivo de adquisición de señal comprende un fotosensor de sangre que tiene uno o más foto-emisores para transmitir luz a una parte del cuerpo de un usuario, uno o más foto-detectores para detectar luz transmitida a través de o dispersada por la parte del cuerpo y dos o más celdas ópticas, al menos una de las cuales contiene un analito a ser detectado o la cual imita el espectro de absorción del analito, a través de las cuales la luz que ha sido o será transmitida a través de o dispersada por la parte del cuerpo pasa antes de que alcance el foto-detector(s), en donde el procesador del PHHM está adaptado para procesar las señales recibidas a partir del o cada foto-detector para calcular la diferencia en intensidad de luz la cual ha pasado a través del o cada celda del analito y la luz la cual ha pasado a través del o cada celda sin analito, para determinar el pulso del usuario y correlacionar las señales obtenidas a partir del fotosensor con el pulso del usuario en donde el PHHM está adaptado para aplicar presión a la parte del cuerpo o haber aplicado presión a éste por la parte del cuerpo de manera que, en uso, una arteria en la parte del cuerpo cambia de ocluida a distinguida durante cada pulso y el procesador del PHHM está adaptado para derivar una medición del cambio en el área luminal de la arteria durante cada pulso y correlacionar las señales recibidas a partir del fotosensor de sangre con el pulso y el cambio en el área luminal de la arteria para proporcionar una medición de la concentración del analito en la sangre arterial.
