Abstract
The invention relates to a journal bearing formed by a body (2) housing two bearings (3) mounted on a hub (5) on one or other side of a central annular projection (5A), said bearings being trapped inside the body (2) between threaded end covers (6) in order to adjust the axial clearance and to compensate for possible wear. Each cover (6) includes an internal groove for housing an oil seal (4), with an external radial wall having an inside diameter that is slightly bigger than that of the corresponding oil seal in order to maintain same in position when lubricant is injected under pressure through a grease fitting (8), as well as comprising an additional valve (9) for releasing air to the exterior.
