Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un proceso para la co-producción de amoníaco, urea y metanol a partir de gas natural, que comprende los pasos de (a) producir un gas de síntesis por medio de la alimentación simultánea de gas natural a un reformador autotérmico (ATR) y a un reformador de metano con vapor (SMR), los dos reformadores funcionan en paralelo, (b) alimentar aire a una unidad de separación de aire (ASU), donde el aire se divide en oxígeno, el cual se alimenta al ATR, y nitrógeno, (c) someter el gas de síntesis del SMR a un desplazamiento de gas de agua, (d) retirar el dióxido de carbono del gas de síntesis del paso (a) y conducirlo a la síntesis de urea en una unidad de síntesis de urea, (e) combinar el gas rico en hidrógeno del paso (d) con el nitrógeno del paso (b), retirar venenos de catalizador de los gases y conducir la mezcla de gas a la síntesis de amoníaco en una unidad de síntesis de amoníaco, (f) opcionalmente retirar parte del dióxido de carbono del gas de síntesis del ATR en el paso (a) y conducirlo a la síntesis de urea en una unidad de síntesis de urea; y (g) conducir el gas de síntesis del paso (f) a la unidad de síntesis de metanol, en donde el gas de síntesis del paso (a) se puede conducir ya sea de la salida de ATR a la salida de SMR corriente arriba de la etapa de desplazamiento o la otra ruta.
