Abstract

Un aparato para realizar una cirugía oftálmica, que comprende: una fuente de luz configurada para generar un haz de luz; un lente de enfoque en comunicación óptica con la fuente de luz, el lente de enfoque está configurado para enfocar el haz de luz en un haz de luz enfocado; un elemento de lente de contacto configurado para entrar en contacto con un ojo a ser tratado, el elemento de lente de contacto tiene una relación de transmisión de al menos 90%, con relación al haz de luz enfocado y está configurado para introducir un error del frente de onda de cuando mucho, aproximadamente ?/2 al haz de luz enfocado, cuando el haz de luz enfocado pasa a través del elemento de lente de contacto, en donde el lente de enfoque está configurado de manera que el haz de luz enfocado tiene una región de enfoque dentro de la córnea del ojo, la región de enfoque tiene un diámetro de 15 µm o menos; y un medio óptico configurado para dirigir el haz de luz enfocado que tiene una región de enfoque con un diámetro de 15 mm o menos, de manera repetida y sucesiva sobre una región de tratamiento dentro de la córnea del ojo, para formar una incisión en la córnea, en donde el elemento de lente de contacto comprende un material que tiene un índice de refracción en el intervalo de 1.500 a 1.550 con relación al haz de luz enfocado.
