Abstract

Un método y aparato dinámicos de detección emplean sistemas microelectromecánicos (MEMS) y sensores quirúrgicos nanoelectromecánicos (NEMS) para recopilar y reportar parámetros quirúrgicos de flujo de fluido y otras características del campo quirúrgico; un dispositivo médico emplea o incluye el sensor quirúrgico en una trayectoria del flujo de fluido de los fluidos transferidos durante el procedimiento quirúrgico; el procedimiento quirúrgico dispone el dispositivo médico en el campo quirúrgico como respuesta al flujo de fluido, tal como en una cánula u otro instrumento endoscópico insertado en un vacío quirúrgico definido o utilizado por el procedimiento quirúrgico; el tamaño reducido del sensor quirúrgico permite la colocación no intrusiva en el campo quirúrgico, de tal manera que el sensor no interfiere con o no afecta negativamente al flujo del fluido en su intención de medir; el tamaño reducido también es favorable para los costos de producción y desecho para un solo uso e instrumentos desechables que son desechados después de su uso en un paciente.
