Abstract

Un sistema y método para posicionar una herramienta dentro de un pozo, en donde la superficie interior del aparato de posicionamiento incluye una o más pluralidades de acanaladuras, cada una de las cuales define un perfil seleccionado. Se baja una herramienta al aparato de posicionamiento, que tiene una cuchilla en comunicación con ella. La cuchilla incluye una pluralidad de miembros sobresalientes, que definen un perfil complementario de por lo menos uno de los perfiles seleccionados formados por una de las pluralidades de acanaladuras del aparato de posicionamiento.
