Abstract
Se describen técnicas que permiten el intercambio eficiente de páginas de memoria hacia y desde un conjunto operativo de páginas para un procedimiento a través del uso de grandes escrituras y lecturas de páginas hacia y desde ubicaciones secuencialmente ordenadas en almacenamiento secundario. Cuando se escriben páginas desde un conjunto operativo de un procedimiento en un almacenamiento secundario, las páginas pueden ser escritas en ubicaciones reservadas, contiguas en un archivo de intercambio dedicado de acuerdo con un orden de dirección virtual u otro orden. Tal escritura en ubicaciones secuencialmente ordenadas permite la lectura de grupos de páginas en grandes bloques secuenciales de memoria, proporcionando operaciones de lectura más eficientes para regresar páginas a memoria física.
