A contact mechanism (50) in which a fixed contact (52) provided to a fixed contact terminal (51) and a movable contact (56) provided to a movable contact piece (60) face each other so as to be attachable/detachable, wherein at least one pair of first and second electromagnetic iron pieces (90, 91) disposed so that both end sections face each other are positioned so as to face the fixed contact terminal (51) and the movable contact piece (60), respectively. An insulating means for preventing, when the fixed contact (52) and the movable contact (56) come into contact with each other and the fixed contact terminal (51) and a movable contact terminal (54) enter a conducting state, both end sections of the first electromagnetic iron piece (90) and the second electromagnetic iron piece (91) from attracting each other and the fixed contact terminal (51) and the movable contact terminal (54) from conducting through the first electromagnetic iron piece (90) and the second electromagnetic iron piece (91), is provided on an electrical path passing between the fixed contact terminal (51) and the movable contact piece (60) through the first electromagnetic iron piece (90) and the second electromagnetic iron piece (91).
