Abstract
La presente invención proporciona un soplete de arco de plasma multimodal que incluye un recipiente cilíndrico que tiene un primer extremo y un segundo extremo, una primera entrada/salida tangencial conectada a o próxima al primer extremo, una segunda entradas/salida tangencial conectada a o próximo al segundo extremo, un alojamiento de electrodo conectado al primer extremo del recipiente cilíndrico tal que un primer electrodo se (a) alinea con un eje longitudinal del recipiente cilíndrico, y (b) se extiende en el recipiente cilíndrico, y una boquilla de electrodo hueca conectada al segundo extremo del recipiente cilíndrico tal que la línea central de la boquilla de electrodo hueca se alinea con el eje longitudinal del recipiente cilíndrico. El ajuste de una posición de electrodo con respecto al electrodo hueco provoca que el soplete de arco de plasma multimodal opere en un modo resistivo de corto circuito, un modo de arco sumergido, un modo de electrólisis, un modo de descarga luminiscente o un modo de arco de plasma.
