Abstract
Una composición para el cuidado bucal, que comprende una fuente de ion estanoso y/o una fuente de ion zinc; un ácido fítico, una sal del ácido fítico o mezclas de estos; en donde el ácido fítico o la sal del ácido fítico tienen un lPn promedio mayor que 5.2. En una composición que comprende estaño, se disminuye el estaño soluble a la vez que se mantiene una eficacia equivalente a una composición que comprende un nivel más alto de estaño soluble; además, se observa una mayor eficacia para evitar problemas relacionados con las manchas y la astringencia. Cuando hay iones de zinc presentes, se ha descubierto, sorprendentemente, que una disminución del zinc soluble puede proporcionar una eficacia antimicrobiana equivalente a una composición que comprende un mayor nivel de zinc soluble.
