Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un procedimiento microbiológico para la eliminación de compuestos de nitrógeno del agua, caracterizado porque comprende tratar el agua a su temperatura natural, con microorganismos que convierten los compuestos de nitrógeno dañinos en compuestos no dañinos, tales como bacterias, especialmente aquellas de las especies Pseudomonas, Achromobacter, bacillus y bacterias heterotróficas, preferiblemente en presencia de un medio nutritivo adecuado para las mismas, caracterizado además porque comprende particularmente conducir continua o intermitentemente agua que contiene microorganismos provistos de una capacidad de desnitrificación, hacia una región de una capa de tierra que contiene agua subterránea, en donde el agua subterránea fluye a un receptáculo de agua, para hacer que los microorganismos así introducidos en la tierra conviertan in situ, entre otros, los nitratos y los nitritos en el agua subterránea que fluye al receptáculo de agua, para formar amoníaco, nitrógeno gaseoso y gases nitrosos.
