Abstract

The present invention relates to the use of an animal feed additive that reduces the toxic effects of mycotoxins, particularly fumonisin B1 and zearalenone. This additive is a mycotoxin adsorbent consisting of an organically modified phyllosilicate having a substitution percentage of 71% of its cation exchange capacity with the organic compound dioctadecyldimethylammonium chloride.
