Abstract

La invención se relaciona al uso novedoso del ácido hidroxiesteárico para inducir la secreción de péptidos antimicrobianos (AMP) cuando se aplica sobre una superficie externa del cuerpo humano. También se relaciona con una composición antimicrobiana que comprende una combinación de ácido hidroxiesteárico y péptidos antimicrobianos o lípidos antimicrobianos o mezclas de los mismos. Esto tiene aplicación para mejorar la inmunidad de la piel, el cuero cabelludo y la cavidad oral contra el ataque de microorganismos.
