Abstract

Una composición que comprende una pluralidad de partículas compuestas de lípidos y polímeros que encapsulan un agente bioactivo, en donde las partículas compuestas de lípidos y polímeros comprenden un copolímero de bloques, un lípido seleccionado del grupo que consiste en un lípido neutro, un lípido catiónico y un lípido aniónico, y un esterol, en donde la pluralidad de partículas compuestas de lípidos y polímeros tiene una media de tamaño de partícula de entre 10 y 1000 nanómetros. Un método para preparar una pluralidad de partículas compuestas de lípidos y polímeros que encapsulan un agente bioactivo, en donde las partículas compuestas de lípidos y polímeros comprenden un copolímero de bloques, un lípido seleccionado del grupo que consiste en un lípido neutro, un lípido catiónico y un lípido aniónico, y un esterol, en donde la pluralidad de partículas compuestas de lípidos y polímeros tiene una media de tamaño de partícula de entre 10 y 1000 nanómetros, comprendiendo el método la homogenización del agente bioactivo con el polímero para producir una solución homogenizada y la inyección del lípido y el esterol en la solución homogenizada.
