Abstract

Un método para separar la fracción de polímeros superabsorbentes (SAP) de productos sanitarios absorbentes posconsumo, en donde dichos productos sanitarios absorbentes posconsumo comprenden además al menos una fracción de celulosa y una fracción de plástico. El método comprende al menos los pasos de esterilizar los productos sanitarios absorbentes posconsumo y tratar dichos productos sanitarios absorbentes posconsumo mediante inmersión en un baño con una solución acuosa que contenga al menos un compuesto oxidante. El compuesto oxidante se selecciona preferiblemente del grupo que consiste en persulfato de sodio, persulfato de potasio, persulfato de amonio, monopersulfato de potasio y peróxido de hidrógeno; preferiblemente peróxido de hidrógeno. El tratamiento por inmersión permite entrecruzar y solubilizar el SAP contenido en dichos productos sanitarios absorbentes posconsumo, y obtener una suspensión que comprenda i) una fracción sólida y ii) una fracción líquida, en donde la fracción líquida comprende poliacrilato lineal (LPA) derivado de la escisión reticulada y solubilización de SAP.
