Abstract

Se divulgan en la presente invención sistemas y métodos para tratar un sustrato de metal. El sistema incluye una primera composición de pretratamiento que comprende un ácido fluorometálico y fluoruro libre y que tiene un pH de 1.0 a 4.0 y una segunda composición de pretratamiento que comprende un metal del Grupo IVB o una tercera composición de pretratamiento que comprende un metal de la serie de los lantánidos y un agente oxidante. El método incluye poner en contacto al menos una porción de una superficie del sustrato con la primera composición de pretratamiento y, opcionalmente, poner en contacto al menos una porción de la superficie del sustrato con la segunda composición de pretratamiento o la tercera composición de pretratamiento. También se divulgan sustratos tratados con uno de los sistemas o métodos.
