Un método de procesamiento de imagen o video comprende recibir datos de entrada de un bloque actual, mapear un índice de modo MIP a un modo por omisión, y codificar o decodificar el bloque actual haciendo referencia al modo por omisión; otro método de procesamiento de imagen o video comprende recibir datos de entrada de un bloque actual codificado o que va a ser codificado por un modo MIP, y analizar o señalizar un indicador de transpuesta para el bloque actual indicando si se aplica transposición en la codificación del bloque actual; muestras de referencia del bloque actual son preparadas a partir de muestras de límite vecinas de acuerdo con el indicador de transpuesta; una matriz es seleccionada para ser multiplicada a las muestras de referencia para generar muestras predichas; un proceso de transposición es aplicado de manera adaptable al bloque actual de acuerdo con el indicador de transpuesta, y las muestras predichas son utilizadas para codificar o decodificar el bloque actual.
