Abstract

The present invention aims to provide a group of Boron Schiff Bases (BOSCHIBAS) derived from a-amino acids (Glycine, Tryptophan, Phenylalanine) synthesized by condensation of di-phenylboronic acid (generated in situ) with their corresponding ligands, and their use as dual cellular staining fluorescent agents for nucleoli and cytoplasm. Said bases present adequate photophysical properties and low toxicity, using them as fluorescent biomarkers in cells for confocal microscopy and making them good candidates for medical diagnosis.
