Abstract

Un método para eliminar líquido de un lumen de una tubería mediante un lavado con pulsos inversos en el que se añade dióxido de carbono en estado líquido o supercrítico a una tubería, y la presión se reduce después de la difusión del CO2 a través del líquido, de manera que la reducción de la presión convierte el CO2 en gas en expansión que presiona la materia fuera de la tubería en el mismo extremo en el que se insertó el CO2. El método es útil para limpiar tuberías largas sin salida, por ejemplo, tuberías de control hidráulico para válvulas en instalaciones costa afuera, especialmente en la industria del petróleo y el gas.
