Abstract

A method is described (i) for producing a metal casting and/or (ii) for producing a cured moulding, selected from the group consisting of a casting mould, a core and a feeder, for use when casting metal castings, and also a moulding material mixture for use in this method. Also described is the use of an aliphatic polymer, comprising hydroxy groups and crosslinked by one or more aliphatic polyisocyanates, as a binder of a moulding for use when casting metal castings. Likewise described is a cured moulding for use when casting metal castings, including a moulding with a green bond, and preferably able to be produced by the method according to the invention. Also described is the use of biopolymers from the group of poly-D-glucosamines as a binder or binder component for producing a moulding with a green bond in the foundry industry.
