Abstract

Un método para formar un material compuesto incluye la mezcla de gránulos de termoplástico(s) y gránulos de material(es) de refuerzo usando una mezcladora con un revestimiento de fricción interior. La fricción generada por la interacción entre los gránulos y el revestimiento de fricción hace que los gránulos de al menos uno de los termoplásticos se calienten hasta alcanzar un estado líquido o semilíquido. El (los) termoplástico(s) líquido(s) o semilíquido(s) actúa(n) como aglutinante del material mezclado. Un sistema para formar dicho material compuesto incluye una mezcladora de este tipo con un revestimiento interior de fricción. El sistema también puede incluir un molde y/o una prensa para conformar el material producido por la mezcladora en una forma acabada. El método y el sistema pueden usar material posterior al consumo y posterior al proceso industrial como entrada, permitiendo que dicho material sea reciclado. En algunos casos, se puede reciclar material posterior al consumo y posterior a la producción industrial contaminado o mezclado, lo que puede reducir el impacto medioambiental.
