Abstract
Se divulga un cable óptico ignífugo (10) que comprende un tubo ajustable central polimérico (3) que aloja fibras ópticas (1), una cubierta metálica (6) que rodea el tubo ajustable central polimérico (3), un revestimiento multicapa (7) que rodea y está en contacto directo con la cubierta metálica (6), en que el revestimiento multicapa (7) comprende una capa interna (7a), una capa intermedia (7b) y una capa externa (7c), todas hechas de un material ignífugo LS0H, el material LS0H de la capa intermedia (7b) tiene un índice de oxígeno limitante (LOI) más alto que el LOI del material LS0H de la capa interna (7a) y de la capa externa (7c). Dicho cable tiene propiedades ignífugas mejoradas, particularmente en cuanto a ralentización de la propagación de la llama, liberación de calor, flamas y emisiones de humo, cuando se expone a las llamas.
